Our school celebrated Grandparents' Day on Friday. It's a lot of fun for the kids, and pretty nerve-wracking for the teachers! There are a great many variables about who will show up, how long they will be in your class & etc. We all plan a special day, with lots of "grand" activities! In our class, we had some grandparents read "What Grandma's Do Best" and "What Grandpa's Do Best." We also worked on "family trees," (coloring a tree, writing names of family members, & decorating with leaf stickers), played bingo, and asked the grandparents questions ("what was your favorite game growing up?" "what were your responsibilities/chores when you were little?" etc) At 11:00 we went to the dining hall for a spaghetti lunch, yum!
Randi with her Grandma & D-da-Diddy (or something like that!)
Joel & Olivia's grandparents joined us at different times throughout the day.
Anthony's parents came as his special friends for the day.
