Visit to the Moody Police Department

Part of Social Studies in Kindergarten is learning about community helpers. Last week I took the kids to visit the Moody Police. The kids loved it. Sgt. Compton (left) and Lt. Praytor were great, and showed the kids all kinds of cool stuff, including their cuffs & tazers. (Those things really crackle!) On a side note: Lt. Praytor said that one of the main issues they face with kids is that the children's parents turn the police into "bad guys." Both officers said that multiple times they have heard parents warn their kids to "straighten up, or else he/she will take you to jail!" Unbelievable!!! What are these people thinking?!
The kids each took a turn being cuffed, then cuffed Sgt. Compton.
(Olivia's little wrists were so small, that the cuffs fell right off!)
