Pear Project

Those of you who do canning/preserving know that sometimes you end up with a "bumper crop" of a particular item. It just so happens that I have a lot of pears in my freezer right now! I went to my favorite recipe site for inspiration: http://www.allrecipes.com I found lots of yummy-looking ideas. The first one that I decided to try was a pear pie.

I am not used to cooking from scratch! What a mess!
Pear Project Phase I was...a success! We really liked it. I'd show you a picture, but most of it is gone! :-) Next up: Pear Bundt Cake
*Note: Since I was using frozen pears, they much much softer & more "runny." I added an extra tablespoon of cornstarch. I probably could have added another, or even some flour.
