Yesterday I heard a radio interview that really made me think. Apparently a female musician made a music video at the place where Kennedy was assassinated. For this video, she walked down the street, disrobing as she went, to the point of complete nudity. This has caused quite a stir, as it was, among other things, illegal to do.
In the interview, questions were asked of the music "expert" about the artist's motives, message & etc. When the interviewer asked if the correspondent thought that this would open the door to more videos like this, he responded, "I hope so. Is that bad?" She answered,
"It's your answer. Embrace it."
Morality. Is it just whatever your answer is? Your opinion? What makes something right or wrong? Is it culture?
If I'm relying on my own opinion, I might decided that it's okay to steal my neighbor's flowers...or car...or husband. If I decide to go by society's standards, which society?!
I know a better way. Better than my answer (or yours!) could ever be. God's answer. It's not a mystery; He's given it to us in His Word. "Love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul, mind and strength...and love your neighbor as yourself." That's my answer, and I'll embrace it.
