I'm a "cat person"; always have been. Shortly after we were married in 2003, Daniel & I got Myla from a shelter in Florida. She was a sweet cat, and we enjoyed her for many years. She died this fall, and I wondered if we should just have our family of four. But... I missed having a cat. So, I decided what I wanted for Christmas was- a cat! Daniel looked for weeks, trying to find the perfect (cheap!) kitty. When I saw this little girl's picture, I thought she was beautiful.
We went to pick her up/ be checked out by her rescuers. (I totally agree with that; some people just shouldn't have pets!) She was so sweet; they could hardly let her go! (They actually followed us out to our car, and kept repeating that if anything didn't work out, we should just call them immediately!)
She has settled right into our home. She's very friendly, and loves attention. We don't know her age, but I'm guessing we're still in the "kitten" stage. She's helped me un-decorate quite a few things, opened multiple Christmas gifts (including one that she ate- sorry, Jenness!), batted ornaments, and basically been a nuisance! One day, she jumped onto my back, trying to get my attention! (She certainly did!)
Patrick absolutely adores "Queen Victoria," and loves to lavish her with attention. The funny thing is, she lets him! He has carried her right-side-up, upside down, and any number of other ways. He loves to pet and hold her. I keep telling him to be gentle with her, and he tries, but all along I'm thinking: She has claws, and she can certainly get away and hide from him. But what does she do? She goes to him, every time. I guess she knows true love when she sees it!

Queen Victoria is blessed to have found herself a home with all of you just as you are blessed to have her. I really believe that rescued animals know that we have saved/rescued them and they love us for that and show us by loving back, Stacie & I rescued at least a gazillion when she was little and beyond little and they always showed us nothing but love, well except for Jack the pygmy goat , he showed me nothing but destruction most of the time but would wag that little tail when he saw me and try to make up for the clothes, insulation, skirting from the mobile home and rose bushes he ate, we took him to the zoo for the kids to have fun with at the petting center so he still got love and I didn't have to keep replacing expensive things:). Hugs!
Awww, she's beautiful !!
Patrick does love her so much. The story about Jack the goat made me lol!
