I have an awesome job this summer. The girls are sweet, the parents are kind and generous...I even like Melton (the dog). We've had a fabulous time together: going to the library, swimming, reading, shopping, playing at the park...Daniel says it isn't right that I get paid for this!
Today started out great. Then... I spilled a 1/2 full cup of coffee. On Grandma's quilt. Oops. It also splattered on my skirt (and, well, most of the room). No problem. Shannon's about my size, so I'll just borrow a skirt until my is washed. Shannon apparently only wears skirts to church. Nice skirts. Skirts that I don't want to think about having to pay to replace if I mess it up. But it's only until my skirt is clean...
One hour later... I take my skirt (that I bought last night, incidentally) out of the washer. "See side tag for care... Do not dry. Twist skirt and let air dry" Go figure.
Then the music started. Apparently today is cram-in-the-practice day. Oboe. Makes for an interesting concert. We've gone from "Ode to Joy" to "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Oh, wait, don't forget "Rocky Top"! Little sister decided that she should join in, randomly strumming a guitar. She made up a song, something like: "I wish you would stop playing that sooooong." I was about to start singing along... ;-)
