We scheduled a car wash a few weeks ago. On Saturday morning, we arrived bright and early, ready to set up. When Daniel spoke to the manager, he mentioned that some church friends would be helping us. The manager then refused to let us use their location. (After it had already been arranged earlier in the week.) I couldn't believe it! What a discouraging start! Daniel went to try to find another location, while I tried to notify our helpers not to come to the first spot.
Daniel called me in about 5 minutes. The ExpressLube had agreed to let us come there, yay! So, instead of a dirt lot, we had concrete. The shop is run by Christians. We didn't hear any foul talk all day, and the workers were even recommending us to their customers! A couple of guys even helped with parking and directing cars. Think God had anything to do with our location switch?! :-)
Leonard and Paige worked all day, advertising for us. Krista, Dad, Daniel & I washed cars like crazy! (Mom kept the kidlets!)
Jonathan drove from Leeds twice to have his van and truck washed! (And ended up washing most of his truck since we were so busy...then paid us!) Bro. Bragg drove from Tarrant, then gave us a generous check. Carol came over from Grayson Valley. The Messners gave us money on Sunday, even though they hadn't come to the car wash!
I was blessed over and over throughout the day. Several people stopped and gave us money, even though they didn't have their cars washed. One man had obviously just washed his car (it was still wet!) and stopped anyway and asked us to wash his floor mats, then paid us $20! (He's an adoptive parent too!) One woman asked me to explain what we were doing (our adoption), then handed me a $100 bill! (I think we all cried that time!)
I can't tell you how many times I cried, blessed again and again by people's generosity, most of them people that we didn't even know! By the time we finished, we had raised almost $500 to Bring Home Baby Walker! Praise the Lord! So grateful...
And a little update: We've completed our homestudy (woohoo, finally!) and now our profile (scrapbook of us) is being shown to prospective birthmothers and we're waiting to be chosen.

Yay, there are so many good people in our world, I am so happy everything worked out for you. Sounds like God was watching over the car wash just like he watches over everything else in our lives.
Hugs sweet girl and before long you will have another little kidlet to spoil and I will have another little kidlet to admire in pictures and maybe meet in person one day:).
