Fire Station 1- We are met with curious stares as we drive around the fire station and park. Oh, did I forget to mention I have Krista's
Fire Station 2- No one is out front, and you have to ring a doorbell. That buzzes loudly for however long you hold it. (Go ahead, ask me how I know!) When a firefighter opened the door, Patrick scooted right on in under his arm, before he even saw me! I managed to get to him before he started helping himself to their lunch. Guess what? They don't do installations either! But Fire Station X & Y do... (Back in car, moving into naptime...)
Fire Station 3- They do installations! And would love to help me, if only I had the punkin seat... (Nope, his parents have that, I only have the base.) But he will squeeze himself into my car and check out Maddy's seat. Cool. Now if I could only keep the boys off the equipment, out of the road, and from killing each other... Madelyn says "Uh, oh," because she's not sure why he's messing with her seat. He wrestles, he tugs, he works for probably 15-20 minutes. I was gratified to be told that I'd done a good job already. :-) Then we try her in it. The straps are supposed to be above her shoulders. Oh, like you're going to have to un-install that thing again and adjust the back? My bad. By this point he's sweating, the kids have gotten into the car and are honking the horn, and my arm's about to fall off from holding Maddy.
A few minutes later, we pulled away, after having thanked our nice firefighter for his help. Oh, and he was really nice about Patrick shutting the door on his rear; I'll bet that wasn't in his training! I guess Monday I'll go get the baby's car seat installed...but I'm going to a different fire station!

Ok, first let me apologize for laughing, I could see all of this playing out, door closing, bells ringing lunch being ate, the whole
thing, no we didn't have car seats when Stacie was little but I did travel in groups all the time when she was little so I know how much terror I mean fun it can be all at the same time, I am glad that noone got ran over or locked out of the car and no firemen were hurt in the episode either, some of them are really great at saving lives and putting out fires but not at dealing with this kind of situations, I have seen that first hand:). Love you sweet girl.
Holly, you have such a way with words! And you have so much patience! I would have been crying in frustration! You just write funny stories for the rest of us to enjoy. Great job!
