Are you humbly grateful, or grumbly hateful...

For devotions this morning, I looked up some verses on "murmuring." (See Dr. Gibbs message via our church website, www.tarrantbiblemethodist.com for more) Dailey was here, and she asked what I was doing. We decided that we'd try to make today a "no-griping" day. I regret to say that she caught me several times! It sounds corny, but each time one of us was complaining about something, the other one would mention something good about that thing. For example, when I was cleaning up dog poop for the 3rd/4th time, she said, "aren't you glad to have such sweet pets?" Later, when we were stuck at a railroad crossing, we both agreed how nice it was to have such nice people to share the wait! Okay, this post is a little nauseating, but I hope you'll understand what I'm trying to say. This is a real problem for me, and God has spoken quite clearly. (136 sins, anyone?!) So, any helpful hints/advice is certainly appreciated!

Don't you just hate it when people are so nauseatingly cheerful . . . I mean, isn't it wonderful to have people to write such challenging posts? ;-) Seriously, God's been talking to me about this lately, too -- and I didn't even go to that service. I've been reading Philippians. Paul is pretty serious about rejoicing in the Lord ALWAYS.

Great to find your blog! Good post. Was that sermon awesome or what? I need that "repreached" to me for a reminder every now and then.
