Serene Sundays

This afternoon everyone came to eat at our house. When we arrived home, we discovered that Guinevere had had diarrhea in her crate, and walked all in it. Daniel took the entire crate outside to deal with. I started slicing potatoes, but had to stop to help Daniel bathe Guinevere. In the midst of her bath, the sink stopped draining. Soon thereafter, guests began arriving, and started preparing their dishes. Julie got a salad bowl under the counter, and discovered that my other sink was leaking! So, while everyone was trying to get the food ready, Daniel was working with a plunger! (So sanitary...) I decided to go fire up the grill...but it wouldn't start! I came back inside the house, where another guest had just spilled a drink on our newly cleaned carpet. Jerrel was bolting through the house, Patrick was crying...the normal bedlam. Then... everyone were super sports about working around the plumbing problems. My sweet family continued with meal prep as if everything was fine. The grill started working (I hadn't turned the propane high enough). We all enjoyed a lovely meal, with soft breezes blowing. Ahhh....

What a hilarious story. You guys all act so calm about it all. I would have been in tears or bald by then I think. I wish some of your "laid-backness" would rub off on me. ;-)
